Windows of opportunity...

Finding windows of opportunity....

Finding windows of opportunity....

I started out my morning with a ten minute "moving meditation"; this morning it was a yoga-inspired sequence. Not long after, I moved into the work portion of my day, which has included A LOT of time in front of a computer screen. And even though I've given myself a few minutes to move every hour, I can feel that my primary rhythm is steeped in being sedentary. While my brain and eyes are quite active, over-active even, the rest of my body is SO sluggish.

The inspiration to move is becoming less and less real as the day unfolds. And so, with a gigantic effort, I gather a few images from my time outdoors last week and encourage myself to stir up my present rhythm into something a little more dynamic.

Here are some of the images that peak my imagination and poke my cells to get moving and connecting....!

Day 1: Merely getting in the car and driving to this spot stirs up my sluggishness. Walking up this path, I feel my whole being settle into a new rhythm and fullness of breath!

What an invigorating experience-- more time than I expect aaannnnd gaining a fresh inside-out and outside-in perspective!

Day 3, part two: I lay on the rock next to these pools and meditate for about 10 minutes, staring up at the expansive blue sky, the pale crescent moon rising, and birds in flight. Big, Bright, Resourcing Life!

Day 3, part three: My perspective before "hiking" back down......aaaaaahhhhhhhh. From start to finish, this break in my day was only an hour's time and yet energized me for days!

I learn again and again that small windows of opportunity for movement and connection are often just around the corner. I open my senses, take a deep breath and go for it.
