Silence...and Belonging

I spent Friday through Sunday in Silence.

It was quite a commitment to stay within silence in my home, not tending to the myriad of “to-do’s” that surrounded me or obligations that pressed at every edge of my being, but instead tuning all my senses towards being silent, listening deeply to “nothing,” and waiting for what might emerge in other-than-words.

To me this is a commitment to Belonging.

A belonging to all that exists, whether I am able to perceive it or not. A belonging to each person, creature, plant, element, mystery with whom I come into relationship. A belonging to the ongoing processes of this beloved earth. A belonging to and with each one of you.

It is also a commitment to be awake with myself and this life, as present as I am able, moment to moment.
