3:30 a.m.
my body wrapped in layers,
I crunch through snow, fetching wood to feed the fire.
selecting the driest pieces, I hold the small stack close to my body
and turn back towards the house.
the moon, now on the other side of its red-blanketed eclipse,
casts long and tangled shadows,
capturing me in the midst of my pre-dawn task.
I stand in wonderment as
the crisp chill softens and
I become silence, inside and out.
oh sweet shining Presence,
I could stand here all night breathing with the stars
and falling in love with you again and again!
Thank you for your Presence here.
